Nanning A regional center of education, industry and transportation with a population of 3 million, Nanning aspires to be the logistics center between ASEAN and China. The city benefits economically from the thriving border trade with Vietnam. FDI concentrates in manufacturing, real estate and construction sectors, although FDI in hi-tech, building materials, agriculture processing industries are also encouraged. Changsha Changsha is the capital city of Hunan province. A large share of Hunan’s industrial output is related to its rich mineral deposits, such as smelting and pressing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Metallurgy, machinery and electronics, food, chemicals, textiles, energy and building materials (such as household ceramics) are the pillar industries in Hunan. Other major products include machine tools, automobiles, motorcycles, electric motors, cement, chemical fertilizer, chemical fiber, pesticides and garments. Major exports include garment, textiles, silk, unwrought manganese, zinc and zinc alloys, porcelain and pottery ware, fireworks and firecrackers, live pigs and footwear.
